Robert Greene is responsible for defining Versant's overall product strategy and direction, including strategic planning, product planning, and business development. Greene provides guidance and technical expertise to key customers regarding Versant's product lines, including product architecture, implementation, features, and future capabilities.
Greene joined Versant in 1997 in the role of director of technical services, and was promoted to director of systems engineering in March of 2000. Since that time, he has helped many large companies implement next-generation business systems in the bio-informatics, telecommunications, defense, finance, and transportation industries. Prior to his work with Versant, Greene was chief engineer at Seaboard Systems, and before that he worked as a technical manager, managing teams of professionals working on F4 and F16 aircraft systems for the U.S. Air Force.
An industry thought leader with extensive experience in object-oriented systems design, Greene presents regularly at Java conferences and seminars on the topic of object persistence and J2EE application architectures. He holds a BSEE from Florida State University. |
