J. Robert Cotton is a director at Kroll Zolfo Cooper. He has over 20 years of workout, energy, bankruptcy and turnaround experience as an attorney, banker and financial advisor. Bob has developed expertise in assisting companies develop and implement restructuring strategies, develop models and plans in support of restructuring goals, develop divestiture strategies, negotiate and implement financing options and in preparing due diligence materials and required court reports. In addition, he has assisted creditors by assessing debtor financial strength and plans and in negotiations with the debtor.
Bob has advised clients in the telecom, retail, food services, and transportation sectors. Some of his notable restructuring assignments include Enron, Flag Telecom, Metromedia Fiber Networks and a confidential food service matter.
Prior to joining Kroll Zolfo Cooper, Bob was a senior vice president in the institutional recovery management group at Citigroup. He has represented both debtor and creditor constituencies over the course of his career and has been involved in numerous successful high-profile reorganizations, both domestically and internationally, including Long Term Capital Management, Laidlaw, Safety Kleen, Andre & Cie, AMF, Edelap and Armstrong.
Bob holds a J.D. from Cornell University Law School and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is also a member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors. He is a certified insolvency and restructuring advisor. |
