Mr. Cappiello has over 22 years experience in the Environmental Management and Engineering field. Prior to becoming a Senior Project Manager of Summit Contracting, Mr. Cappiello worked as an Environmental Engineer responsible for compliance of 15+ regionally located box container facilities in the United States and Mexico. Field activities included assisting plants with air, wastewater and solid waste permitting; preparation of necessary spill plans and pollution prevention plans; and assisting with SARA notifications. He performed site visits as part of a formal auditing program, environmental permitting, formal environmental training and UST removal and emergency spill response work. His responsibilities included engineering, installation, and management of wastewater treatment systems for individual box plants. As an Environmental Project Engineer and Manager, Mr. Cappiello was responsible for compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations at manufacturing facilities nationwide. He has experience with RCRA technical review of hazardous waste Part A and Part B permit applications and closure plans, writing regulations, developing agency policies, preparing technical information for legislative committees, supervised the CERCLA type cleanup of sites around Indiana, performed environmental sampling, developed site cleanup guidelines and negotiated with responsible parties. Mr. Cappiello’s experience included working as an EPA Federal Assignee to the State of Indiana.
