Robert Beckelman is an associate of the firm in its Real Estate Department and a member of the Redevelopment Practice Group and Land Use Practice Group. He handles land use litigation in Superior Court matters and applications before local land use boards and governing bodies, with an emphasis on redevelopment projects, eminent domain, and affordable housing. He also engages in related transactional work and contract negotiations. Mr. Beckelman represents developers and property owners, as well as numerous municipalities as special redevelopment counsel. Mr. Beckelman's experience also includes civil and commercial litigation, environmental litigation and compliance, code enforcement issues, and municipal court matters. A graduate of Rutgers University with high honors, Mr. Beckelman received his law degree from Rutgers School of Law-Newark, where he was chairman of the Moot Court Board. Mr. Beckelman previously served as a summer intern for the Honorable John J. Hughes, U.S. Magistrate Judge, District of New Jersey. Mr. Beckelman also served as a summer associate with the firm. Mr. Beckelman is a member of the Mercer County and Middlesex County Bar Associations. Mr. Beckelman is admitted to practice in New Jersey and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. |
