Robert W. Moore of Stockholm, New Jersey, USA, was elected to serve a two-year term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s 88th International Convention, held in Hong Kong, June 27-July 1, 2005.
Director Moore is a retired high school teacher. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Modern History and Literature at Drew University.
A member of the West Milford Lions Club since 1984, Director Moore has held many offices within the association, including club president, region chair, zone chair, cabinet treasurer, council chair, vice governor and district governor. Additionally, he has served as moderator at the USA/Canada Forum and on the State Convention Committee, State Finance Committee, Resolutions Committee and Constitution and By-laws Committee.
In recognition of his service to the association he has received numerous awards, including the West Milford Lion of the Year Award, 100% Club President’s Award, 100% District Governor Award, Rebuilding Club Award, District Pioneer of the Year Award, Multiple District 16 Harold Nutter Distinguished Service Award, International President’s Award and International President’s Certificate. Director Moore is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lion activities, Director Moore is active in numerous professional and community organizations. He is currently a member of the Harmony Lodge, Northern Valley of New Jersey Scottish Rite, National Education Association, New Jersey Education Association and National Council of History Educators. He previously served on the board of directors of the National Education Association and the New Jersey Education Association Executive Committee. Director Moore was named to the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers several years in a row.
Director Moore’s wife, Past District Governor Elspeth, is also a member of the West Milford Lions Club and a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow. |
