Robert S. Rivkin is a vice president of Aon Corporation and deputy general counsel for litigation and government affairs. He is responsible for all Aon litigation in the Americas as well as brokerage regulation, insurance company regulation and government relations.
Before joining Aon in February 2004, Rivkin served as general counsel of the Chicago Transit Authority, where he supervised all legal matters including public finance, contracts, labor and employment, real estate, construction, procurement and litigation from 2001 to 2004.
Previously, Rivkin served as a litigation partner at the Chicago law firm Schiff Hardin & Waite, as legal policy director for the city of Chicago and as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. Rivkin also has worked at government agencies in London and Brussels, Belgium.
Rivkin clerked for Judge Joel M. Flaum of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. He is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College and received his law degree from Stanford Law School, where he served on the law review.
Rivkin is a member of the Chicago Inn of Court, the Economic Club of Chicago, and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations. He is also a director of the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and a fellow of Leadership Greater Chicago. |
