Bob primary focus is financial market regulation and litigation. He represents clients involved in securities and futures litigation at trial, appellate, administrative and arbitration levels. His practice also includes complex and class action litigation. Bob handles self-regulatory organization disciplinary proceedings and investigations for securities industry clients and market professionals. He also assists investment advisory, investment management and broker dealer clients in licensing and compliance matters. Bob served on the legal advisory board of the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc., and currently serves on the NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc. Market Operations Review Committee. He is a member and past public chair of the Ohio Division of Securities Enforcement Advisory Committee and a member of the Ohio State Bar Association Corporation Law Committee. Bob is an arbitrator for NASD Dispute Resolution, the National Futures Association and the American Arbitration Association. In 1993 he was practitioner in residence at Cornell Law School, and has served as adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he taught Law, Theory and Practice in the Financial Markets. He is a member of the Northern Ohio Commercial Advisory Council of the American Arbitration Association, and is a member of the American, Ohio State and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Associations. Bob serves on the board of directors of Recovery Resources, a community healthcare organization focused on mental health, alcoholism, drug and other addiction recovery. Having published numerous articles in legal and professional journals, many of Bob’s works have been cited in courts throughout the United States, including the United States Supreme Court. He is the author of Blue Sky Regulation, 2nd Edition, a comprehensive four volume treatise on state securities law published by Matthew Bender & Company, Inc., and is a contributing author for Federal Securities Act of 1933, also published by Matthew Bender & Company, Inc. Bob’s current research interests focus on securities enforcement across world markets. He began his tenure with Calfee in 1975 and became a partner in 1980. |
