Robert M. Goodman is a partner of the firm in its Litigation Department and chair of the Product Liability Practice Group. Mr. Goodman concentrates his practice in product liability matters, complex commercial litigation and white collar criminal defense law. He specializes in the defense of product manufacturers and represents manufacturers in many industries including numerous motor vehicle manufacturers and distributors and manufacturers and distributors of motor vehicle component parts. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Goodman was a senior partner at another major New Jersey law firm where he was a member of the Executive Committee and co-chair of the Product Liability Practice Group. From 1978-1984, he was an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, and served as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division from 1982-1984. He is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America in the Product Liability Litigation category. Mr. Goodman is a member of the Product Liability Advisory Council, the New Jersey State and American Bar Associations and serves as a trustee of the Association of the Federal Bar of the State of New Jersey. He is also a member of the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers; Master, Arthur T. Vanderbilt American Inn of Court; member of the Essex County Fee Arbitration Committee; and served as a member of the Essex County District Ethics Committee from 1989-1995. He was an instructor in trial advocacy for the United States Department of Justice, Attorney General’s Advocacy Institute, from 1982-1984. Mr. Goodman attended the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and graduated from Rutgers College, with honors, where he was selected to Phi Beta Kappa (1973). He received his law degree from New York University (1976). Mr. Goodman is admitted to practice in the States of New Jersey (1976) and New York (1977) and numerous federal courts. |
