Robert Mead is Senior Vice President of Strategic Marketing and Communications. He leads a combined group that includes the Strategic Marketing, Communications and Corporate Public Involvement organizations.
Mr. Mead is responsible for effectively integrating and influencing communications across a broad array of key constituents -- including customers, health care providers, employees, brokers/consultants, the media and public policymakers. He also is a member of Aetna's Executive Committee, the senior governing body for the company.
Mr. Mead joined Aetna from the Brunswick Group LLP, a leading international corporate and financial communications consulting firm. Prior to joining Brunswick, he was the President of Gavin Anderson & Co., an Omnicom subsidiary and global consulting firm specializing in financial, corporate and public affairs.
In his career, Mr. Mead has consulted with many high profile organizations and corporations, including the United Nations, Caremark, United Airlines, Prudential, General Motors, Standard & Poor's and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Mr. Mead received his Bachelor's degree and completed coursework for a Master's in Business Administration at the University of Texas. He and his wife, Katia, have two children.
