Robert M. Liebers, D.D.S. is a mainstay of Ellis Hospital leadership. Dr. Liebers began serving on the Ellis Hospital Board of Trustees in 1997 and is a past chairman of the board and past chairman of the Ellis Hospital Medical Dental Executive Committee. He also served as chairman for the Ells Hospital Department of Dentistry and Oral Surgery from 1981 to 1996. Dr. Liebers currently chairs the hospital board's Quality Committee and also serves on the Executive, Governance, Executive Compensation and Joint Conference Committees.
Dr. Liebers retired from dentistry in 1999, after practicing for more than 38 years in Schenectady . During his career, he held membership in numerous professional societies. For example, he is a life fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a diplomate of the Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a member of the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He was also elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and is a life member of the American Dental Association and the Fourth District Dental Society.
Dr. Liebers earned his dental degree at Columbia University School of Dental & Oral Surgery, NY, NY, and attended New York University. He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, stationed at Chanute Air Force Base, IL.
Dr. Liebers' involvement in the community has resulted in his being named a Patroon of the City of Schenectady. The numerous organizations that have benefited from his leadership over the years include the Schenectady County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, the Boy Scouts of America, the United States Selective Service System, the Schenectady County Health Department. |
