Robert M. Carter is 70 years old. He has been involved with construction for several years. After graduating from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1955 he was drafted into the military in August 1955 and served two years duty with the 101st Airborne Division. After an honorably discharge he returned to Tennessee and enrolled at Middle Tennessee State University and graduated in business administration. He then began a career in construction, lumber, real estate and consulting work for the state of Tennessee forestry service. Mr. Carter has served as a director on two local bank boards, and has spent 10 years on the county school board, the hospital board, and a member of the local York, shrine organization, and Mason member. In 1994 Mr. Carter began working for Tengasco, Inc. and has served in several capacities of the corp. He has been involved in working and obtaining right of ways for our pipeline to Rogersville, TN. He assisted working with the Tennessee Dept. of Transportation to obtain the right of way on highway 11 to deliver natural gas to Eastman Chemical. Mr. Carter has been involved with organizing a local utility in Sneedville, Tennessee for the purpose of using Tengasco’s natural gas. After several years of meetings, the city now has natural gas. He obtained the right of way from Tennessee Valley Authority to construct Tengasco’s natural gas pipeline within their power line easement to deliver gas to Rogersville, Tennessee. He also was instrumental working with other personnel to obtain a gas contract from Eastman Chemical. A right of way to Eastman chemical plant was necessary to construct over government property known for several years as Holston Ordnance. Mr. Carter was the person bringing the projects together. |
