One of our founders, Mr. McDonald was born and raised in Reno. He graduated from the University of San Francisco Law School in 1949 and became a member of the Nevada Bar Association that same year. Prior to the start of his legal career, he distinguished himself as an Army Air Corps fighter pilot in World War II.
Mr. McDonald began his legal career as a Deputy Attorney General for Nevada, and later became a Deputy United States Attorney.
In 1949, Mr. McDonald entered private practice in Reno with then U.S. Senator Alan Bible. They remained partners until the U.S. Senate adopted rules prohibiting lawyer members from maintaining private law practices. Today, after more than 50 years, McDonald Carano Wilson thrives because of the high standards, integrity and commitment to community put in place by Mr. McDonald and Senator Bible.
Mr. McDonald founded several of Northern Nevada’s most successful gaming companies and was a principal in the development of Incline Village, one of America’s most prosperous communities.
As a man of action and generosity, Mr. McDonald significantly contributed to the development of his community. He established the Pop Warner Football program in the Reno area, and he was the founder of Fun Camp, a program that funds trips for underprivileged boys and girls to summer camp at Mountain Meadow Ranch in Northern California. This camp is rated No. 1 in the Western Region of the United States.
Mr. McDonald also established the Northern Nevada Chapter of the National Association of Christians and Jews, and has been involved in many charitable and political organizations throughout the state. By all measures, Mr. McDonald has been a respected senior statesman throughout Nevada. |
