Robert L. Smith is Senior Vice President and General Manager of Dynamics Research Corporation's (DRC) Acquisition Management and Engineering Group (AMEG). The AMEG includes major field offices in the Washington, DC; Dayton, Ohio; Huntsville, Alabama, Lexington, Massachusetts, and Okalahoma City, Oklahoma areas. In addition, Mr. Smith manages 12 other smaller offices at strategic locations throughout the United States.
The Acquisition Management and Engineering Group supports a variety of DRC customers in the defense sector, which include: Headquarters United States Air Force, HQ Air Force Material Command (AFMC), the various Air Force Logistics Centers (ALC), the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM), U.S. Air Force Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC), the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM), the U.S. Air Force Electronic Systems Center (ESC), and various other strategic defense locations and commands. Primary areas of technical capability offered by AMEG include; program management and consultant services, engineering technical services, financial management, business transformation, and a broad range of logistics and data management services.
Prior to this assignment, Mr. Smith was Director of DRC’s St. Louis Field Office prior to being named Vice President and General Manager for Huntsville Operations in 1998. Between 1988 and 1990, Mr. Smith served as the DRC Marketing Manager for the St. Louis regional area with responsibility for the comprehensive marketing of key Army customers located throughout the United States.
Prior to joining DRC, Mr. Smith served as an Aviation Officer and UH-60 pilot and maintenance officer with the United States Army.
Mr. Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy and a Master of Science degree in Engineering Technology from Murray State University. |
