As Vice-Chairman and Group Treasurer, Robert (Bob) Brooks is responsible for managing the Scotiabank Group's treasury and investment operations on a global basis, including the Bank's public and private investment portfolios, medium-term and capital funding, and overall asset and liability management.
Bob joined Scotiabank in 1968 and has held a variety of positions throughout his career. Bob is currently the Chairman of Scotiabank (Ireland), Director, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of e-Scotia Acquisition Inc., and e-Scotia Commerce Holdings Limited, and a director of several of the Bank's subsidiaries and affiliates. He also represents the Bank on the Boards of Helix Investments (Canada) Inc. and Lawrence and Company Inc.
Bob is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, past chairman of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, and a past president of The Empire Club of Canada.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Manitoba and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Bob and his wife, Brenda, have three sons. |
