Bob Bailey is the chairman, president and chief executive officer of PMC-Sierra. Mr. Bailey joined PMC-Sierra as president and chief executive officer in November 1993. In September 1994, he helped facilitate themerger of the company with Sierra Semiconductor. Mr. Bailey was elected as a director of Sierra Semiconductor in October 1996, which subsequently changed its name to PMC-Sierra, and was named the company's president and chief executive officer in July 1997. Prior to joining PMC-Sierra, Mr. Bailey was the vice president of Application Specific Integrated Circuits at AT&T's Microelectronics Unit. He was also at Texas Instruments (Dallas, TX) where he worked for over ten years,mostly in the semiconductor group. In 2000, Mr. Bailey was named "CEO of the Year" by Electronic Business and was ranked as one of the "Top Ten CEOs of 2000" by Investor's Business Daily. Mr. Bailey has been a director of PMC since October 1996 and is currently Chairman of the Board. Mr. Bailey has served as PMC's President and Chief Executive Officer since July 1997. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors from February 2000 until February 2003, and he will serve as Chairman again after the 2005 Annual Meeting. Mr. Bailey has served as President, Chief Executive Officer and director of PMC-Sierra, Ltd., PMC's Canadian operating subsidiary ("LTD") since December 1993. Mr. Bailey was employed by AT&T-Microelectronics (now known as Agere Systems) from August 1989 to November 1993, where he served as Vice President and General Manager, and at Texas Instruments in various management positions from June 1979 to August 1989. |
