As a Bankruptcy Judge in the Eastern District of New York for twenty years, Judge Hall presided over many of the most prominent and important cases on Long Island as well as thousands of bankruptcy matters.
Judge Hall practiced law in Queens County for twenty years until he was appointed a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge in 1976. During that time he had a general practice which included real estate, corporate, trusts and estates, matrimonial, criminal and commercial litigation matters.
Judge Hall was also a criminal defense attorney for the Legal Aid Society of New York and an Assistant Attorney General where he prosecuted stock fraud cases in the civil and criminal courts for the New York State Attorney General. He also served as a hearing officer for the New York Harness Commission and as Counsel to the County Clerk of Queens County. He has been active in charities, civic endeavors and politics and served as State Assemblyman, District Leader, Counsel to the Republican Executive Committee and a delegate to the 1976 Presidential Convention.
Judge Hall serves as Counsel to our Bankruptcy, Restructuring and Workout Department and was previously counsel to the Bankruptcy Department of two of the largest law firms on Long Island.
Judge Hall is admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and all of the local Federal and New York Courts. He has been a member of the American, New York, Queens County and other Bar Associations. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the St. John’s University School of Law, Masters in Bankruptcy program and is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges. Judge Hall chaired a committee of lawyers who made recommendations to the Eastern District Court for the adoption of ADR rules for the court. |
