J. Robert McMenamin is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm’s Chicago office. He is a member of the Firm’s Corporate Department. Robert has over 31 years' experience in banking, finance, commercial and corporate law. His experience includes syndicated loans, project financing, leveraged acquisition financing, working capital financing, asset-based lending, subordinated debt and mezzanine financing, ESOP lending, securitization, credit enhancement, workouts and restructurings, both in the private and public markets. He was previously co-head of McDermott's finance group.
Robert clerked in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit during 1971-72. Thereafter, Robert practiced law at Mayer, Brown & Platt until 1989, when he joined McDermott.
Robert is a member of the American Bar Association and The Economic Club of Chicago. He is past president of the Lawyers Club of Chicago. He is a member of the advisory board of Scholastica High School and is past chairman of the advisory board of Holy Trinity Highschool.
