Dr. Christenson, the Director of both Point-of-Care Testing and Clinical Chemistry Laboratories at the University of Maryland Medical Center, is a leader in the clinical use of biochemical markers and the application of point-of-care technology. A member of the Board of Directors for the American Association for Clinical Chemistry since 1996, his major research interests include the use of biochemical markers for assessing cell injury and improved strategies for utilization of laboratory tests. A Professor of Pathology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he has authored more than 100 articles, letters and reviews, contributed more than 20 book chapters, and has presented at numerous conferences on the subject of biochemical markers of myocardial injury. |
