Rob Rusk, a member of Cypress’ Management and Fairness Opinion Committees, is an investment banker with over 20 years experience in mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, capital markets, leveraged finance, private equity, distressed investing and restructuring. He has led teams structuring and executing transactions with a value in excess of $30 billion in a variety of industries including automotive supply, consumer products, energy, healthcare, industrial, independent power, retailing, technology, and utilities on behalf of corporate, private equity, hedge fund and institutional investor clients. Representative M&A, fairness opinion and general advisory transactions include the divestiture by Duke Energy of several energy services businesses, the purchase by NRG Energy of a fleet of electric generating assets, the acquisition by Countryside Power of Ripon Cogeneration, the sale by Cenveo of Supremex, the transfer of certain private equity fund investments within Xerox’s pension plan, and the sale of CBOT to CME. Representative restructuring and distressed investing transactions include Mirant, Allegheny Energy, Horizon Energy, Venture Industries, US Energy Biogas, HealthSouth, and Delphi. Prior to joining Cypress, Mr. Rusk was the founding partner of Sleepy Hollow Capital Partners, LLC, an advisory and private equity firm whose clients included leading private equity firms, hedge funds and energy companies. Mr. Rusk was formerly a Managing Director in the Investment Banking Department of CIBC World Markets, where he advised clients in the power, utilities and energy industries. His transaction activity ranged widely, including buyside and sellside mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, investment grade and high yield debt offerings, initial public offerings, follow on equity offerings, leveraged and corporate lending, private equity principal investing, structured financings and derivative products. Prior thereto, Mr. Rusk was an investment banker at Bear, Stearns & Co. and at Bankers Trust Company. Mr. Rusk earned a B.A. from Hamilton College and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School Business of the University of Pennsylvania. He has been qualified as an expert in leveraged finance in federal bankruptcy court, and is a member of the Advisory Board of Schultze Asset Management. |
