Mr. Schaberg is a senior partner in the Firm’s Litigation Department who has had 32 years of litigation experience. His practice consists of complex litigation, with an emphasis on: intellectual property (e.g., patents, trade secrets, trade marks), antitrust, business torts (e.g., breach of fiduciary duty, unfair competition), securities fraud, insurance coverage, and construction litigation. He has successfully acted as lead trial counsel in federal and state jury and bench trials, as well as completing a substantial number of arbitration/mediation matters. Mr. Schaberg also serves as a Marin County Superior Court pro tem settlement judge and discovery referee.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Schaberg is Co-Director of Division IV (Procedural) of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. Division IV consists of approximately 7 substantive Committees that focus on the procedural aspects of litigation (e.g., trial practice, appellate practice, expert witnesses). Mr. Schaberg is a former Co-Chair of the Litigation Section’s Business Torts Litigation Committee, and co-author of its Business Torts Litigation, Model Jury Instructions, Chapter Seven: Breach of Fiduciary Duties, (3d edition 1996).
Mr. Schaberg is also a member of the following Litigation Section Committees: Intellectual Properties Litigation, Securities Litigation, Computer Litigation, Pretrial Practice and Discovery, and Insurance Coverage Litigation. He also is a member of the Antitrust Section of the American Bar Association.
EDUCATION
Mr. Schaberg received his undergraduate degree from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio (B.S. 1968), and his law degree from Boston College Law School (J.D. 1971). |
