Robert E. (Bob) Mitchell is GTSI's Senior Vice President of Operations and Chief Information Officer. In this capacity, he is responsible for managing the majority of the company's supply chain capabilities as well as the internal Information Technology (IT) department. His supply chain responsibilities include order management, configuration, warranty, customer service, purchasing, and distribution. His IT responsibilities include application/ERP systems development, networking, telecommunications, desktop support, database management, server administration, and Internet connectivity. Through this role, he is responsible for championing GTSI's vision of making operations and information technology a competitive advantage. Mr. Mitchell has nearly two decades of experience in technology related firms including leadership roles in software & hardware product development, strategic/business planning, operations, finance, and marketing.
Prior to GTSI, Mr. Mitchell founded his own consulting firm performing strategic/competitive assessments, product planning, and business planning.
Before founding his own company, Mr. Mitchell held several executive positions including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer and subsequently Vice President of Operations and Marketing of a venture capital backed software startup in Austin, Texas. Prior to this, he was at Works, a procurement-oriented software company that was later acquired by Bank of America, where he led corporate program management and strategic/business analysis. Additionally, he spent over 11 years with National Instruments Corporation where he helped to grow the company from approximately 100 people and $13M in revenues to more than 1600 people and $300M in revenues.
He holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelors in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, both with honors. Additionally, he holds 11 patents in software and hardware design. |
