Robert E. Kell - VP Exploration & Director Mr. Kell joined SAMEX in 1994 and became a Director in June of 1996. Rob emphasizes a very hands-on approach to SAMEX's exploration efforts, spending much of his time in the field personally directing the Company's programs.
Mr. Kell received his B.S. Degree in Geology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University , Blacksburg Virginia in 1974. He has gone on to complete all graduate courses and comprehensive examinations for a Doctorate Degree in Geology from the University of Montana, and plans to complete the final details as personal and work schedule's permit. Rob has received several academic awards and has been published on numerous occasions in topics relating to his profession.
Over the past thirty years Mr. Kell has held senior level exploration and contract geologist positions with several of the world's leading mining companies including;
-Anaconda Minerals Company. Over a ten year period Mr. Kell rose to senior exploration positions and participated in the original platinum/palladium discoveries at Stillwater , Montana and the Dall cu/zn/ag massive sulphide discovery in Alaska . -BHP- Utah International. Mr. Kell oversaw various exploration projects from California through to Alaska including a gold discovery, Bluff, in the Seward Peninsula , Alaska .
-Newmont Overseas Exploration. Rob conducted reconnaissance geologic work directed at establishing the nature of metallogenic belts and the gold potential of the Cordilleran Oriental, Cordilleran Occidental and Altiplano in South America . |
