BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE: Mr. Johnson has practiced law in Tampa for over twenty-four years. He practices complex civil and probate litigation and has handled cases in most of the circuit courts in Florida. He is admitted to, and has practiced before, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, the Southern District of Florida, and the District Court of Appeal for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has been involved in over seventy jury and non-jury trials as sole, associate or chief counsel. He has also handled appeals in all five of the District Courts of Appeal in Florida. Martindale-Hubbell has awarded Mr. Johnson an "AV" rating which signifies the highest accolade an attorney can receive for his "legal ability" and "adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence." Mr. Johnson has also served as pro bono attorney for the Guardian Ad Litem Program in the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, as well as acting as Chairman/panel member of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit Ethics and Fee Arbitration Committee handling attorney fee disputes in Hillsborough County.
