Robert E. Giblin is vice president DuPont Business Finance. He joined the company in 1976 at its Wilmington, Del., headquarters as an international business analyst.
From 1976 to 1981, Mr. Giblin held a number of analysis positions in the Foreign and Banking and Tax Divisions. He was appointed manager Special Studies (in the Mergers and Acquisitions area) in 1981 and became manager International Tax in 1984.
In 1986 he was transferred to Nieuweigen, The Netherlands, as treasurer of Philips and DuPont Optical a 50/50 joint venture between DuPont and NV Philips. He returned to Wilmington in 1989 and served as director, Finance and Strategic Planning for the Diagnostic Imaging and Biotechnology Divisions until 1992.
In 1992, Mr. Giblin became global business director of DuPont Howson, a wholly owned subsidiary of DuPont that manufactured and sold printing plates and related systems. He became global director of Finance and Strategic Planning in the Printing and Publishing Division in 1994 and for DuPont Automotive in 1998. He was on the negotiating and integration teams for the Herberts acquisition and in 1999 was appointed global director of Finance and Strategic Planning for Performance Coatings. Mr. Giblin held this position until February 2004, when was named to his current position.
He was born in Chicago, Ill., and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Finance (1974) and MBA in Accounting (1976) from Indiana University. He is on the Board of Directors of A Door of Hope Pregnancy Resource Health Clinic. |
