Robert Stell is a shareholder and director in the Firm’s Oklahoma City Office. He is a member of the Firm’s Energy and Natural Resources Department, and has over a decade of experience in litigation and civil trial practice, oil and gas law and energy law. Based on his work for major oil and gas producers and companies across Oklahoma, Mr. Stell also has substantial experience in environmental law and litigation. In addition, Mr. Stell has developed additional unique regulatory and litigation practice areas relating to solid waste management and mining law in Oklahoma. Mr. Stell has worked on numerous royalty owner lawsuits, most of which were filed as class actions. In addition, he has handled numerous lawsuits relating to alleged oilfield environmental contamination. Mr. Stell has also handled many cases alleging that oil and gas, solid waste and mining industry participants are responsible for creating or maintaining a nuisance which interferes with the ability to use and enjoy various properties. In addition to his substantial experience in Oklahoma, Mr. Stell also regularly handles matters in other states for select clients. Regarding community involvement, Mr. Stell is a member of the Oklahoma City Mineral Lawyers Society, the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is also an active member of the Oklahoma State University Alumni Association, currently serving on its National Leadership Council. He also served in the Oklahoma Army National Guard from 1989 through 1999.
