Robert C. Nissen is a partner in the firm's Litigation Practice Group, where he specializes in patent litigation. He has over ten years of experience in the telecommunications industry in both technical and management positions, and in 1987, he received a patent for his work on cellular telephone technology. He has practiced in state courts, federal district courts, federal appellate courts and before the United States Supreme Court
Mr. Nissen received his Law degree, with honors, from the University of Texas Law School in 1994, where he served as associate editor of the Texas Law Review. After law school he clerked for the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. He then joined the Washington D.C. office of Sidley & Austin during which time the D.C. Court of Appeals in an en banc published opinion specifically recognized Mr. Nissen for his "exemplary representation" of his client's interest. He received his Master of Science degree in Engineering from Southern Methodist University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University.
Mr. Nissen is admitted to the Texas State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. |
