Robert Hiden was a partner in Sullivan & Cromwell's General Practice Group from 1968 to 1999, when he retired as a partner to Of Counsel status. He has extensive experience in securities, transactional, M&A and regulatory matters involving a range of clients including commercial and industrial companies, bank holding companies, financial institutions, broker-dealers and public utilities. Mr. Hiden established the Firm's Commodities, Futures and Derivatives Group in the early 1980s and was heavily involved in advising a broad range of clients regarding off-exchange commodity and derivative products and transactions, including those involving securities and financial instruments. Mr. Hiden is a former member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association's Business Law Section, and served as Chairman of the State Bar's Committee on Futures Regulation. Mr. Hiden has been a lecturer at securities, commodities and derivatives seminars, and has written frequently concerning derivative products and the regulation of derivatives and off-exchange transactions. |
