Robert A. Willner is a Shareholder in the Firm's Bank and Finance Group in the Los Angeles office. His practice includes the representation of commercial banks, asset-based lenders, equipment lessors, factors and other financial institutions in the structuring, negotiation and documentation of all manner of commercial lending and leasing transactions, including asset-based lending, cash flow lending, acquisition financing, leveraged employee stock option plans, debtor-in-possession financing, equipment leasing, aircraft leasing, trade finance and factoring.
Representing both agent banks in large, complex, syndicated credits and single lenders in middle market credits, he is experienced in financings in a broad spectrum of industries including healthcare, broadcast, cellular, communications, media, agribusiness, retailers, manufacturers, distributors, motion picture and entertainment, publishers, and software developers.
Mr. Willner is a past Chair of the Commercial Law Committee of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He also is a member of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of California, and the Financial Lawyers Conference.
Mr. Willner received his B.A. cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles. He earned his J.D. from Loyola Law School, where he was Order of the Coif. While in law school, Mr. Willner served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Justice Allen E. Broussard of the California Supreme Court. He was also an articles editor and writer for the Loyola Law School Entertainment Law Journal.
Mr. Willner is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation, a non-profit corporation charged with overseeing the operations of the landmark Santa Monica Pier. He is also an avid cyclist and skier.
