Robert A. Koons, Jr. is a partner in Drinker Biddle’s Intellectual Property Practice Group.
Bob is a registered patent lawyer and litigator, focusing his practice on patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, antitrust and unfair competition cases. His practice includes prosecution of trademarks and patents before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as related counseling, licensing and transactional matters. He has prosecuted numerous applications for business method patents. Bob represents both U.S. and foreign companies in a range of technological and business industries, including chemicals, plastics, electronics, semiconductors, logistics, manufacturing processes, printing and transportation. Previously, he was a shareholder with Buchanan Ingersoll PC, where he also served as co-chair of the intellectual property section. Prior to practicing law, he served as an engineer and project engineer with the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company.
In General. Bob received his bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering from the University of South Carolina. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law and his M.B.A., with honors, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and Third Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. |
