Rio Minami is a Managing Director focused on Asian real estate opportunities, especially in Japan. He is based in Tokyo.
Prior to joining Carlyle, Mr. Minami was a Senior Vice President of International Investments at Starwood Capital Group, LLC. He acted as Head of Starwood’s Japan real estate-related investments for six years. Prior to that, Mr. Minami served as Executive Vice President of the KG Land New York Corporation, an affiliate of Kumagai Gumi Co., Ltd. While at KG, Mr. Minami handled approximately $650 million of hotel and office properties for development, financing, asset management and disposition.
Mr. Minami received bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from Tohoku University. He also received a master’s degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design, with a focus on real estate and finance. |
