Ricky is an audit partner with Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P. Ricky graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.B.A. in Accounting in 1987. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant certificate in 1989.
EXPERIENCE
Ricky began his career in 1987 as a staff auditor with Ernst & Whinney in Laredo, Texas where he participated in the completion of audits of various governmental and financial institutions. He subsequently joined the firm of Grant Thornton, now Burton McCumber & Cortez, L.L.P., and was promoted to manager in 1992. He was ultimately promoted to partner in 1997. As a partner of the Firm, he is responsible for the direct supervision of the planning, coordination, control and review of audits and works directly with the account managers to ensure the quality of service to the Firm’s clients. He has a broad background of experience which includes the retail, financial institution, non-profit, governmental and agricultural industries.
His additional responsibilities include the oversight of the Firm’s offices, BMC Y Fragoso, S.C in Reynosa and Matamoros Mexico. In this capacity, he acts as the Firm’s liaison for clients doing business in Mexico and provides assistance to maquiladoras in the following areas: entity structure and formation, accounting, transfer pricing and audits.
