Rick Shampaine, Vice President for FranNet, has been active in franchise development since 1984, consulting several dozen franchise companies in such diverse industries as travel, home services, food and consumer products. To date, he has assisted more than 800 families in becoming owners of their own businesses. He operates the central Florida FranNet office in the Tampa Bay area.
Shampaine emphasizes the "matchmaking" aspects of franchise consulting. "Not only is business ownership not for everyone, but not every franchise fits every entrepreneur," he says. "The key is to match the prospect with the best and most affordable franchises that coincide with that person's needs, strengths and resources." It is to this aim that he consults with his clients, charging no fee for the services rendered.
Shampaine has a J.D. (law) degree with highest honors from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and is a member of the Missouri Bar Association. His professional and community affiliations include:
International Association of Career Management Professionals - Membership Chairman, Tampa Chapter
Indo-U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Tampa - Member, Sponsor and Frequent Guest Speaker
Big Brothers/Big Sisters Organization, Tampa Bay - Member, Special Advisory Committee and Active Big Brother (15 years).
