Rick Hancock brings more than 20 years of Department of Defense (DoD) Information Technology (IT) experience to his role as Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Apogen Technologies. As CIO, Hancock is responsible for aligning Information Systems (IS) capabilities with Apogen’s overall strategic direction.
Mr. Hancock held several management positions at Ocean Systems Engineering Corporation (OSEC), acquired by Apogen in May 2006, including Senior Engineering Manager responsible for coordinating, directing and planning the execution strategies for many large-scale C4ISR projects, including life cycle support.
Previous to OSEC, Mr. Hancock served as Project Officer and Systems Engineer for Tactical Combat Operations System (TCO), Data Automated Communications Terminal (DACT) and Global Command and Control (GCCS) programs with the United States Marine Corps. During this time, he provided program management and systems engineering support, including hardware/software engineering services, to lead Marine Corps Migration to a single modular, scaleable and interchangeable baseline system. This was the first system to adopt an evolutionary acquisition approach and serves as the standard for other C4I systems today.
Mr. Hancock began his career as an officer with the U.S. Marine Corps and served for 12 years on active duty and eight as a Reservist. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from Randolph Macon College and a Master of Science degree in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. |
