With 29 years of experience in technology sales, Rick Gunther has been instrumental in helping ASAP become one of the fastest-growing software licensing service providers in the industry. In his role as executive vice president of sales, Rick manages ASAP's global sales force, including more than 40 North American sales offices, our sales staff in five European countries, and our partnership with Corporate Express IT Solutions in Australia.
Rick began his career in the computer industry in 1977 with Burroughs Corporation, which later became Unisys. He was recruited by Hewlett-Packard's computer systems group in 1979, and during his 11-year tenure there, held various sales and management leadership positions. He received numerous awards during this period, including recognition for managing the firm's highest-performing sales region.
He joined ASAP in 1990 as director of sales, with a mission to develop a world-class sales organization. To accomplish this, he provided the ASAP sales force with professional training and drove the process to equip them with industry-approved professional certification. He built ASAP sales into customer-centric teams, and established an experienced group of focused professionals in five key market segments. He also led the expansion of ASAP's sales presence throughout North America and into Europe, growing the North American team over 15-fold between 1990 and 2006.
Rick holds an MBA in marketing from the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business at DePaul University, and a BS in business management from Northern Illinois University. He is an active volunteer, devoting time to educational and community organizations.
