Richard (Rex) Rexroat developed specific expertise in the international telephony marketplace during more than 30 years in the cable telecommunications industry, as a senior vice president of engineering for Liberty Media Corporation. A pioneer in the launch of high-speed data, digital TV and telephony services in international markets, Rexroat joined TCI in 1971. Over the next three decades, he held a variety of positions with TCI, TCI International, and their successor, Liberty Media. Rexroat is credited with several industry firsts, including the TCI Fiber to the Serving Area (FTSA) architecture, the first cablephone pilot in Miami, FL, and the first MSO-to-MSO videophone operation. An active member of SCTE and NCTA, he also has published several papers relating to SONET networks and next generation architectures. |
