Rick Klein is a partner in the Corporate Finance Department and currently serves as the firm's practice group leader of the Lease Finance Group and of the Aircraft Finance Group. Mr. Klein has been with Chapman and Cutler LLP since he began the practice of law in 1981. Mr. Klein is also a Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Klein has extensive experience in the firm's private and public finance practice areas, including representation of insurance companies, domestic and foreign banks and other financial institutions in a broad variety of financial transactions. In recent years, Mr. Klein has concentrated his practice in leasing and structured finance. This includes single-investor, leveraged, tax-advantaged and synthetic leases, both domestic and cross-border. These financings have involved representation of a wide range of lenders, lessors and lessees, including insurance companies, hedge funds, banks, leasing companies and municipal entities. Transactions have involved aircraft, railroad rolling stock, vessels, manufacturing facilities, co-generation facilities, real estate and other types of assets. His practice also includes representing institutional investors in secured and unsecured privately placed debt financings. Mr. Klein also has extensive experience serving as bond counsel and representing underwriters in public offerings of health care and educational tax-exempt bond issues throughout the United States. |
