Rich Garside is an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the North America Global Consumer Group with responsibility for Operations and Technology supporting Citi Cards, the Commercial Business Group, the Consumer Lending Group, and Retail Distribution in North America. Operations and Technology's 50,000 employees are responsible for customer service, transaction services, collections, credit, fraud prevention, and all technologies required for support of these businesses in order to present a seamless face to the customer. Rich also has responsibility for Contact Center best practices globally for Citi. He is a member of Citi’s Management Committee.
Rich began his career with Citibank in 1981 in Data Center Operations in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, followed by management positions at three sites before becoming director of the U.S. Customer Service Center in San Antonio, Texas. He joined First USA in Austin, Texas in 1994 as Senior Vice President, then rejoined Citi in September 1998.
Rich is a board member of Citibank South Dakota, The Student Loan Corporation, The University of Sioux Falls, and the I.M. Sulzbacher Center for the Homeless in Jacksonville, Florida. He is on the Georgia Tech Advisory Board, and a Regional Trustee for the Boys & Girls Club.
Rich received his bachelor's of business administration degree from University of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
