Richard Furlin serves as Managing Director of AHA’s Woodlands, Texas office. Additionally, he leads AHA’s Energy and Entrepreneurial Practice and is a member of the company’s Executive Committee. He has over 25 years experience in Senior Management positions as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to entering the Executive Search profession, Rich had a distinguished career with major corporations in a multitude of industries. He held divisional and corporate positions with Ultramar, Ltd., an integrated international British oil and gas company with an emphasis on upstream operations as Chief Financial Officer of Ultramar’s North American operations. During his tenure at Ultramar, he was responsible for the evaluation of Ultramar’s worldwide operations. He has extensive involvement in mergers and acquisitions in a multitude of industries. Rich has consulted with many companies over his career with a focus on business development and strategic growth. He has been involved in numerous start-up ventures and was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Optima Global Source, Inc., a global procurement consulting company focusing on web-based technology and procurement expertise enabling management of large production facilities along with the development and implementation of worldwide supply chain and logistics programs. Rich earned his BA and M.B.A. degrees from The University of Rochester, a post-masters certification in Taxation from Iona College and C.P.A. certification in New York and Texas. He has completed numerous Senior Management training programs during his career.
