Dr. Richard Shin is a Principal in LECG's Washington, D.C., office. Before joining LECG, he served as an economist at the Economic Analysis Group of the Antitrust Division, U. S. Department of Justice (1996-2001), and as an economist in the Bureau of Economics at the Federal Trade Commission (1992-1996). Dr. Shin also worked as a Research Economist for Mathematica Policy Research (1988-1992).
Dr. Shin's research interests span a broad range of subject matters, including applied microeconomic theory, industrial organization, regulation, telecommunication industry, and econometrics and he has published articles in areas of regulation, telecommunications, econometrics, and health economics. While serving as an economist at the Antitrust Division and the Federal Trade Commission, Dr. Shin participated and served as the lead economist in a number of mergers, regulatory proceedings, and investigations in the telecommunications and radio broadcast industries as well as mergers involving other industries.
Dr. Shin received his A. B. degree in applied mathematics, economics, and statistics and his M.A. in economics and statistics from the University of California, Berkeley. He also received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988. |
