Rick Kenny was named vice president, Global Operations Excellence, in 2006. He is responsible for replication of best practices in reliability, process and efficiency improvements, and cost-reduction programs among operations groups worldwide. Kenny joined the company in the mechanical equipment engineering group in 1974, and subsequently held assignments in plant engineering support, maintenance management and plant management. Following a series of operations and engineering field assignments, he was named standard plants operations manager for the North American business in 1990 and manager of operations engineering in 1997. In 1999, he became director, efficiency processes, in the Global Production Excellence organization. He joined Praxair Europe as director, Safety and Operations, in 2002. Kenny earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
