Richard L. Sanquini is chairman of the board at PortalPlayer an industry leader in personal media player solutions and has been a Synaptics director since 1994. He retired from National Semiconductor after a 20 year tenure where he served as the chief technology officer managed business development and intellectual property protection and was the chairman of the board of two joint ventures in China. While at National Semiconductor Richard managed key business units including Microprocessors and Microcontrollers. In the 1990's he developed a unique intellectual property program that produced more than 2000 patents and generated significant royalty income. Prior to National he was president and CEO of Information Storage Devices and general manager and director of the memory and microprocessor businesses at RCA. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering Wisconsin. Richard is currently a member of the boards of Zilog LitePoint and FyreStorm.
