Richard (Rick) J. Kaitz is a partner in the Real Estate Department with over twenty-five years of commercial real estate legal experience. Mr. Kaitz has assisted retailers and developers with all aspects of the development of shopping centers and other commercial properties, including acquisition, financing, leasing and disposition, in projects throughout the United States. He also represents owners and managers of existing shopping centers and other commercial properties in lease administration and enforcement, tenant relocation and expansion and renovation.

Most recently, Mr. Kaitz was a principal of Kaitz + Associates, LLP and its predecessors, Kaitz & Fellman, LLP and Goldstein, Kaitz & Fellman, LLP, and before that he was in the Real Estate Department at Mintz Levin. From 1986 to 1989, he served as president of Kaitz Properties, Inc., an owner/developer of retail, office and residential properties in Massachusetts, New York and New Hampshire.

Mr. Kaitz is frequently invited to speak during conferences and seminars produced by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE), among others.

An avid endurance athletics participant, Mr. Kaitz has run the Boston Marathon several times. He recently competed in, and completed, the Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. He has also participated and raised funds in numerous benefit races on behalf of Dana Farber Cancer Institute and its Jimmy Fund (and others) including the BAA Half Marathon. He has ridden for over 15 years in the Pan Mass Challenge and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Dana Farber through the PMC.
