Richard J. Chernesky concentrates his practice in the area of general corporate law, including negotiation, structuring, and consummation of acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, and reorganizations. He has extensive experience representing family owned and publicly held companies, with emphasis on general corporate and business advice as well as raising capital through public and private offerings, venture capital financings, and real estate syndications. Attending the Ohio State University, he received his B.A. in Political Science in 1963 and his J.D. in 1966. While at the College of Law, he served as Note Editor for The Ohio State Law Journal. Mr. Chernesky has been named since 1991 as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the Woodward/White publication of the same name. He has been named among the "Who's Who in Law" in The Dayton Business Journal. He has also been named an "Ohio Super Lawyer" in Law & Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine.Appointed by Governor Bob Taft, Mr. Chernesky serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Sinclair Community College.Mr. Chernesky is a member of the Board of Directors of Mike-sell’s, Inc., and International Display Systems, Inc. Formerly, he has served on the Boards of Directors of Dolly, Inc., The Better Business Bureau of Dayton/Miami Valley, Inc., the Miami Valley Hospital Foundation, the United States Soccer Federation Foundation, and the American Indoor Soccer Association, Inc. He has served as a Trustee of the Hipple Cancer Research Center and The Lutheran School of Dayton and as a member of the Development Committee of the Lutheran Social Services of the Miami Valley. His professional memberships include the National Lawyers Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, Corporate Law Committee and the Dayton Bar Association. |
