Richard H. Gordin focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and white collar criminal defense. His civil litigation experience encompasses such areas as commercial and financial transactions, civil enforcement actions, insurance coverage, telecommunications, fraud, real estate, securities, trade regulation and disputes involving the control, ownership and dissolution of businesses. He regularly counsels corporate clients in these areas. He represents parties in individual and class action lawsuits and before agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission.
Mr. Gordin has represented clients in criminal and civil enforcement actions concerning such matters as fraud, deceptive practices, health care, false statements, trade, government procurement, public corruption and foreign corrupt practices. He has conducted internal corporate investigations and advised companies on compliance programs.
Mr. Gordin served for five years as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. Since 1996, he has been co-instructor for the annual D.C. Bar CLE course on Pretrial Substantive and Procedural Motions.
Richard Gordin is a 1974 graduate of Northwestern University, which he attended as a Fellow in the Law and Social Sciences Program. Northwestern awarded Mr. Gordin both a law degree magna cum laude and Order of the Coif and a Master of Arts. He received a B.S. degree with highest honors and with special honors in mathematics from Purdue University in 1970. Mr. Gordin is a member of numerous federal bars, including the Supreme Court of the United States, and is admitted to the bars of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Illinois. |
