Current responsibility
Dick is a principal and consulting actuary with the Milwaukee office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 1984.
Experience
Dick's area of expertise is healthcare programs, including managed healthcare, individual major medical plans, group dental plans, Medicare supplement plans, Medicare risk contracts, long-term care, critical illness, and cancer plans. He has assisted clients with provider capitation analyses, provider risk-sharing arrangements, benefit pricing, valuation of reserves, plan design, underwriting, financial reporting, healthcare reform analysis, and experience analysis. Dick has advised many organizations, including HMOs, PPOs, PHOs, insurance companies, employers, hospitals, physicians, and Taft-Hartley plans.
Affiliations
Dick has served on the Valuation Actuary Symposium Planning Committee and American Academy of Actuaries Health Rate Filing Task Force.
He has chaired Society of Actuary workshops.
Presentations and publications
Dick has given presentations on a variety of subjects, including organ transplantation, provider capitation analysis, and healthcare reform. He is the author of several research reports regarding human organ transplantation.
