Rick Goshorn is responsible for all of VeriSign's legal affairs and for providing legal and business counsel to the Chief Executive Officer, the Global Leadership Team and the Board of Directors. Mr. Goshorn leads VeriSign's Global Law Department and oversees the management of the company's outside counsel.
Mr. Goshorn joined VeriSign in June of 2007 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. From October 2004 to May 2007, he served as General Counsel of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, an international law firm. From 2002 to 2003, Mr. Goshorn was Corporate Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Acterna Corporation, a public communications test equipment company. From 1991 to 2001 he held a variety of senior executive legal positions in London, Brussels, Singapore and Washington with Cable and Wireless PLC, a British telecommunications company, including the position of Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Cable & Wireless Global. Previously, Mr. Goshorn was a senior attorney at Fort Howard Corporation, a paper and plastics manufacturing company. In addition to his corporate positions, Mr. Goshorn spent six years in private practice, first with Frost Brown Todd LLC in Cincinnati, Ohio and later with Gottesman Jones and Partners in London, England.
Mr. Goshorn holds a B.A. degree in Economics from the College of Wooster and a J.D. degree from Duke University's School of Law. |
