Dr. Cartledge is a practicing cardiothoracic surgeon with the Memorial Heart Center in Hollywood, Florida. Dr. Cartledge is a named inventor on numerous issued U.S. patents and pending patent applications for a variety of medical device inventions. He is a founder of several medical device companies, including SmiCar Biomedical, Cartledge Medical Products, i-Beat, and Advanced Cannula. One of Dr. Cartledge’s inventions is a rapid infusion IV pump currently assigned to SmiCar Biomedical, that has received three multi-million dollar Department of Defense line item appropriations for its further development for military medical applications. Dr. Cartledge has a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and a M.D. degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania. In addition, Dr. Cartledge was a fellow with the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Medical College of Cornell University. |
