Richard C. Buslepp is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. His practice is concentrated in the areas of business law, real estate and tax and estate planning. Mr. Buslepp is counsel to clients in a variety of industries including manufacturing, architectural and engineering, technology, construction, service and transportation. Mr. Buslepp's practice is particularly focused in the transactional/mergers and acquisitions area where he has extensive experience in advising and counseling an array of privately held and public companies regarding all facets of stock and asset sale transactions, joint ventures, debt and equity finance transactions, management led buyouts, real estate transactions and merger transactions. In addition, he regularly counsels clients on a variety of other legal matters including business entity formation, the formation and qualification of tax-exempt organizations, tax planning, tax controversies, the preparation and review of contracts and business planning and law issues.
Mr. Buslepp is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and a member of its Business and Tax Law Sections, a member of the American Bar Association and its Business and Tax Law Sections, and a member of the Detroit Bar Association. He has lectured and written on numerous business and tax law subjects including the advantages and disadvantages of the various forms of business entities, the requirements for tax deferred like-kind exchanges, and corporate, estate and partnership tax matters.
Mr. Buslepp received his law degree cum laude in 1990 from Wayne State University Law School and a Masters degree in Taxation cum laude in 1995 from Wayne State University Law School. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.
