Richard (Rick) A. Sayers II is executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Agilysys Inc. Agilysys is a leading provider of innovative IT solutions to the corporate and public sectors with special expertise in select vertical markets including hospitality and retail. The company uses technology including hardware software and services to help customers resolve their most complicated IT needs. Additionally Agilysys possesses expertise in enterprise architecture and high availability infrastructure optimization storage and resource management and business continuity; and provides industry-specific software services and expertise to the hospitality and retail markets.
Mr. Sayers who reports directly to Arthur Rhein chairman president and chief executive officer is responsible for all human resources management employee communication and organizational and employee development for the company. Specific functions include strategic human resources planning compensation benefits staffing and internal communications.
Mr. Sayers began his career at Agilysys as senior vice president corporate services in December 1998. Prior to joining Agilysys Mr. Sayers was managing director and the lead human resource executive for PricewaterhouseCooper’s global business process outsourcing practice. He served as corporate vice president of human resources for Invacare Corporation from 1991 to 1997. From 1973 to 1991 Mr. Sayers held human resources management positions of increasing responsibility with TRW Inc. His last assignment at TRW was vice president human resources for the TRW Steering Systems Group.
Mr. Sayers has previously served on non-profit boards for City Year and Recovery Resources. City Year works to promote the concept of national service amongst the youth while Recovery Resources is a group dedicated to sobriety and recovery.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management and a Master of Science degree in industrial administration from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University. Mr. Sayers is a member of the national Society of Human Resource Management and the Human Resource Policy Association.
