Rex Johnson is a leading expert within the credit union and consumer lending industries. The author of four books, a video entitled "Lending is an Attitude" plus the University of Lending Video Library, Johnson is the former CEO and first employee of Baxter Credit Union, Deerfield, Illinois. During his 12-year leadership, the credit union grew to $300 million in assets. Named Illinois Credit Union Executive of the Year, Johnson has shared his expertise with thousands of credit union employees and volunteers worldwide.
In addition to working with a number of credit union leagues, he has served as an instructor for CUNA's Advanced Lending School and has been on the organization's Lending Task Force. In 1995, Johnson created the first hands-on, interactive lending school for credit union professionals - the University of Lending. Johnson is a driving force behind LSI's commitment to helping credit unions become leaders in consumer lending. In the year 2000, Johnson was inducted into both the Illinois Credit Union Hall of Fame and Credit Union Executive Society Hall of Fame. Johnson received a masters degree in management from Northwestern University. Johnson serves as a shareholder, director, and consultant to LSI. |
